Composition in Alabaster
Defined by sculptural stillness, Composition in Alabaster is an ethereal, monochromatic reimagining of a residential interior. The project title reflects its design ethos: a finely tuned arrangement of soft whites, pale stone, and chalky textures that act as a canvas for the shifting play of natural light.
From the threshold, the property establishes a vocabulary of clean lines and sweeping, geometric forms that celebrate the pure beauty of stone. The rear aperture is framed by a pristine, off-white render and integrated limestone detailing. The structural layout is open yet balanced, using wide, unimpeded openings that pull vistas from the manicured, structural green garden straight into the heart of the home. Serving as the home’s central spine, a custom-designed, sweeping spiral staircase acts as a piece of functional sculpture. Crafted from micro-cement and smooth plaster, its flowing curves soften the property’s straight, clean architectural lines.
The calm narrative culminates in the master bathroom, designed to evoke the sensory tranquility of a high-end wellness retreat. Large-format, honed white marble tiles clad the floor and wrap the walls, establishing a seamless, monolithic envelope that expands the sense of space. Every unnecessary visual element is stripped away: the water closet is quietly wall-hung, and a single branch of greenery brings an organic, vibrant touch into the otherwise pristine, chalk-white sanctuary.
